The space

The heart of it is one long room — kitchen, dining, lounge — that opens onto a covered deck running the full width of the house, looking west across the valley. The pool is a few steps down from the deck; the firepit a few steps further, ringed with chairs that have heard a lot of late conversations.

Inside, the fireplace works, and the king bedroom shares the same valley view as the deck. The kitchen is properly stocked — not Airbnb-stocked, properly stocked — so you could cook a real dinner without a supermarket run.

The pool is the thing people come for and the deck is where they stay. Morning coffee with the valley waking up; an evening swim as it goes gold; the fire when the mountain air turns cool.
