The house, the pool & room for four

The space

This is the whole upstairs house — the same hilltop the couples come for, opened up for four. One long room runs the width of it: kitchen at one end, woodfire at the other, the valley through every window. It spills onto a covered deck, and the pool sits a few steps down from there, with the firepit a few steps further again.

There are two bedrooms. The king shares the deck's view; the second has a queen and its own quiet at the far end of the house. The bathroom has a deep tub. The kitchen is properly stocked — not Airbnb-stocked, properly stocked — so four of you could cook a real dinner without a supermarket run.

It's the version of Hilltop with room to spread out: two couples who like each other, a family of four, the friends who've been meaning to do this for years. The pool is the thing people come for; the deck is where they stay.
